Google Maps gets COVID-19 features, updates

Note that all of these new additions work in Google Maps for Android and iOS.

Next is the COVID-19 overlay improvements to Google Maps that have been launched Back in September.

Much to one's surprise, the research showed that 67% of the malicious app installs came into the phone through Google Play Store.

"This year, we've made it easier to find information that helps you stay safe, up-to-date, and connected", Dane Glasgow, Google Maps VP of product, wrote in a blog announcement.

Google is also rolling out an early preview of the improved experience of Google Assistant driving mode for Android users in English in the US. The first incorporates the capacity to see more COVID-19 data about an area - including record-breaking recognized cases, speedy connections to COVID assets from nearby specialists, the seven-day pattern there (expanding or diminishing), and the number of all-out passings. It is worth noting that this will only apply to English-speaking users in the U.S. in the first place.

Google Maps is now adding new COVID-19 related features to help users make an informed decision before heading out during the holidays.

Google has spent plenty of time this year updating its products to be more useful during the pandemic, and some of it's freshly announced Maps features serve that same goal.

Place an order via Google Maps to know when to pick up your food or when it's due to arrive at your door; users can also see expected wait times and delivery fees, reorder favorite meals, and-coming soon-check on the status of restaurant reservations. On Android and iOS globally, you'll start seeing how crowded your bus, train, or subway line is right now based on real-time feedback from Google Maps users around the world (wherever data is available).

Another new feature includes the ability to see the live status of takeout and delivery orders.
