Pep Guardiola believes Tottenham are Premier League title contenders, but the Manchester City manager feels this may be the most open title race since his arrival in England.

City have since emerged as his most likely destination, although manager Pep Guardiola wants to see Messi remain at Barca.

He said: "Lionel Messi is a Barcelona player". I would love it, I would wish it. "As a fan, I want Leo to finish there".

Paris St-Germain have also been linked with the 33-year-old, although every candidate Barcelona presidential election - to be held in January - has said it is a priority for them to persuade Messi to stay at the Nou Camp.

"In the academy, as a player and a manager, they gave me absolutely everything". But he finishes this year the contract and I don't know what's going to happen in his mind.

His contract with the Catalan club will finish after this season and can join another club on a free transfer next summer, if Barcelona fail to convince the Argentine to sign an extension.

"Since then we have achieved a great deal together, scored goals, won games and trophies, and we are all very proud of that success". The transfer market will be in June, July. That is the only thing in our mind. "I can't say the rest".

"I didn't think about anywhere else, just to stay here", he said.

"We need to make changes with the subs, we need to talk about the fixture list", Klopp added.

"With the discussions around - and I take it really serious - what we are talking about with dementia and all the concussion stuff with heading, if people would have talked about that 50 years ago we wouldn't have to discuss it today".

The six-time Ballon d'Or victor is in the final year of his contract in Catalonia and is free to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with foreign sides in January, with City amongst a select group of clubs capable of financing a deal for the Argentine superstar.

"I'm still enjoying this job, what happens in two years I can not answer".
