Thurston County reports 34 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday

318 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Ireland today.

99 in Dublin, 28 in Cork, 26 in Louth, 25 in Meath, 21 in Donegal, 6 in Clare and the remaining 125 cases are spread across 19 other counties.

Washington state reported 1,717 cases Saturday, bringing the state's totals to 141,260 cases and 2,619 deaths.

As of 2pm today, 282 patients are hospitalised with Covid-19, of which 31 are in ICU. In the past 24 hours, 77 people have tested positive in Belfast, followed by 36 in Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon and 33 in Lisburn and Castlereagh.

The Department of Health said that 73pc of confirmed cases are those under 45 years of age.

The median age of people contracting the virus has risen to 37 years old.

330 new cases have also been confirmed - the lowest daily figure in the last 10 days - with the national 14 day incidence rate falling to just over 113 cases per 100,000 population.

Public health chiefs have warned the progress in bringing down levels of the virus made during the current Level 5 lockdown has stalled, and say the next two weeks will be critical.
