The president appeared with about two dozen leaders to speak at the beginning of the summit, speaking in a video conference from the White House Situation Room, reports CNN.

A few hours later, Trump was on the golf course just outside Washington D.C. while he could (and should) have been attending a G20 event dedicated to dealing with the coronavirus pandemic.

The White House confirmed Trump's participation late Friday afternoon, according to the Washington Post, less than a day before the summit was scheduled to begin. The countries that make up the G20 "represent around 80% of the world's economic output, two-thirds of global population and three-quarters of worldwide trade", an information page for the summit says.

Pelosi's press office didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from Insider. Trump refused to compromise, and instead made unsubstantiated allegations of voter fraud in an effort to nullify the presidential election result so he could remain in office - a power grab unprecedented in modern American history.

Further, it says Trump reaffirmed the importance of the G20 working together for future economic growth and prosperity.

The president also reportedly claimed that the two vaccines that have showed promising signs this week, one from Moderna and the other by Pfizer and BioNTech, were the result of efforts by US companies. Trump, who withdrew the United States from the World Health Organization, did not mention either organization, but said America would ensure "domestic needs" are met before working on vaccines for the rest of the world.

Several outlets, including The New York Times and The Guardian, reported that Trump briefly took part in a motorcade on his Sterling, Virginia property on Saturday.

Biden's victory margin widens as Trump's coup attempt overthrows

Trump has spent two weeks largely out of sight calling for elections for President-elect Joe Biden.

He continued to show off the USA economy and military, and repeated false claims that his government's Warp Speed operation was behind the first two successful vaccines for the coronavirus.

Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger (R) certified the November 3 election results on Friday in favor of Biden, who won the Southern state by more than 12,000 votes.

CNN reported that Trump's influence on the global stage is at a low ebb after losing the election.

Leaders who have spoken thus far at the G-20 this weekend have highlighted the importance of a comprehensive and global response to the coronavirus.

According to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University, the US now leads the world in the number of total confirmed coronavirus infections, followed by India at roughly 9 million, Brazil with 6 million and France with 2.1 million cases.
