Samsung Integrates Google Assistant to Its 2020 Smart TV Lineup

Google Assistant is now rolling out to France, Germany, Italy, and the UK.

Stating that the use of voice assistants on the Smart TVs has grown exponentially since Bixby's launch in 2018, Seline Han, Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, said, "With Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa now supported, we are inviting our consumers to ask even more of their Smart TVs".

"By deploying the Google Assistant on Samsung Smart TV, we want to connect your living room to the rest of your smart home so you can better manage your day across your favorite Google services", said the Google Assistant. Google Assistant is now available in the UK, France, Germany, Italy and will be rolling out to 12 countries by the end of this year.

Samsung's own Bixby may not be used much from now as Google assistant's features are more powerful and allow for more functions.

Samsung Smart TV users now have faster access to their favourite entertainment, real-time answers on the screen, and the ability to seamlessly control their smart home devices with a voice assistant. From there, Google Assistant can be selected as a voice assistant.

The new models will have Google Assistant built in to the TV meaning the commands will be directed to the TV.

Customers can use their preferred voice assistant to discover new content with a search by genre, director or actor.

The company has revealed the lineup of Smart TVs that will get the Google Assistant.

Right now, only Samsung's 2020 range of 4K and 8K TVs are eligible for use with the Google Assistant.
