Six months immunity following COVID-19 infection, say researchers

Just 18 percent of parents said their holiday plans this week involve people traveling from out of state, down from 40 percent who say their family usually treks elsewhere for Thanksgiving, the survey found.

Fortunately, only one member of the family needed hospitalization, 57-year-old Enriqueta Aragonez, who was first admitted with pneumonia, then released and readmitted later as she developed additional trouble breathing.

Members of a family in Arlington, Texas are imploring the public to stay home for Thanksgiving after a family birthday celebration ended with 15 attendees suffering from COVID-19.

In a report from CS Mott Children's Hospital at Michigan Medicine, based on answers received in August from parents with at least one child below the age of 13, about a third of parents said that "benefits of gathering with family at Thanksgiving are worth the risk of spreading or getting COVID-19".

"We know that we messed up because we let our guard down", she said of her family.
