Apple to release iPad Pro with OLED display in H2 of 2021

Kuo adds that the newly launched iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max's demand is better than expected and its sales will likely boost as several countries in the west are heading into the holiday season.

Apple is widely expected to transition the iPad Pro lineup to mini LED displays starting in the first quarter of 2021. The analyst reiterates his previous predictions that the Cupertino-based tech company would introduce new Apple silicon Macs with an all new form factor and industrial design, in the second half of 2021. Samsung Display has reportedly renovated its OLED production line at its A4 factory in Asan, South Korea in preparation for the new iPads.

Apple has launched a slew of new products in the past couple of months.

The first M1-powered Macs - the new MacBook Air, a lower-end 13-inch MacBook Pro, and the Mac mini, began arriving to customers last week. This whole process is now undertaken in order to increase the life of the given emitting layer.

Apple was requiring higher specs for the OLED that will be used for its iPad Pro from Samsung Display and LG Display compared to screens that provide for iPhones, people familiar with the matter said.

Quite interestingly enough, the source for the release date of the Apple iPad Pro 2021 gives two different halves of 2021. There's also talk of 5G connectivity making its way to the 2021 iPad Pro lineup.
