In Brazil, Pfizer begins process to register Covid-19 vaccine

The government has signed deals with major pharmaceutical companies, including Pfizer, which with its German partner BioNTech on Friday sought U.S. regulatory approval for its vaccine.

Explaining that there is no Covid-19 vaccine approved for mass use and publicly available yet, the multinational clarified, "Once approved, Pfizer will supply this vaccine during this pandemic phase only to Governments across the world, based on agreements with respective Government authorities, and following regulatory authorization or approval".

With the emergency use authorization of a coronavirus vaccine expected in the coming weeks, MA health officials may look to a small group of infectious disease doctors to help plan for the mass distribution of hundreds of thousands of vaccine doses. Drug firm Moderna said it will apply soon for its vaccine.

According to the publication, the first batch of 6.4 million doses also includes vaccines that would go to five federal agencies - the Bureau of Prisons, the Defense and State departments, Indian Health Service and the Veterans Health Administration.

The statement describing the error comes after the announcement on Monday that the shots were "highly effective" and made no mention of why some study participants didn't receive as much vaccine in the first of two shots as expected.

The Pfizer vaccine has ultra-cold long-term storage requirements of -70 degrees Celsius.

".While the freezers are available commercially, numerous units are on back order as states, local health departments and health care providers across the USA and around the world scramble to get them".

To streamline the process, ANVISA said that the labs developing the vaccines can present the results as they become available.
