Being a vehicle of the SUV type, the Hyundai AX1 micro SUV spied auto has a raised stance, good-looking alloy wheels and the rear door handles have been placed on the C-pillar, like on the Maruti Suzuki Swift. We're expecting the new arrival in Hyundai's crossover lineup to be offered exclusively with front-wheel drive and gasoline power.

The name of the vehicle has been inspired by Bayonne, a city in France, which sits between the attractive Atlantic Coast and the picturesque Pyrenees Mountains. It remains to be seen whether the naturally aspirated engine will be offered for the Bayon or Hyundai will decide to go turbo-only.

The B-segment SUV is very famous in Europe.

Think Hyundai already has a full range of crossovers? This new B-segment model will be the entry point to the Hyundai SUV line-up and be placed below the Kona. The spy shots of the vehicle have been taken while the vehicle was spotted testing in Europe. Also, there is no tall boy look as seen on other SUVs in India. It leans more towards the cross overlook.

Spy shots of a small crossover testing had indicated that this new model was a beefed up i20, and the eventual replacement for the i20 Active on sale in markets overseas.

Hyundai has released a teaser image of its upcoming crossover called the Bayon. To explain it in simple words the Bayon will be a mix of the i20 and the Hyundai Venue. The headlight and grill is expected to be like the Hyundai i20 but the LED Daytime running lights would be split like the Hyundai Venue.

Hyundai does need a auto between the Venue and the i20 but the Bayon will Europe specific vehicle. The teal paint is likely exclusive to the Bayon and Hyundai has made other changes to the styling to set it apart from the hatchback.
