And it's launched as a three-row, seven-seat model called the Grand Cherokee L, ahead of the standard two-row version and a new, electrified model named "4xe" later this year. The Grand Cherokee L will offer some second-row amenities not often seen in this class, with heated and ventilated seats, and four-zone automatic temperature control with personalized fan-level settings. There is a new steering wheel as well and a new 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster with 24 content screens. The former is offered with a six-speed manual and seven-speed DCT unit while the latter is mated exclusively to a nine-speed automatic transmission. The powertrain lineup is expected to mirror the current offerings though, and the addition of a hybrid model is expected down the line. Jeep says this was intentional, but to me the Grand Cherokee L looks somehow more handsome than its smaller counterpart. The Jeep Compass appears to be the foundation for this fresh-faced baby SUV, which clearly incorporates the grille and headlight design from the Grand Wagoneer.
