Warnock will be the first Black U.S. Senator from Georgia. His call comes two days after supporters of President Donald Trump stormed the Capitol and unsuccessfully tried to stop Congress from affirming Biden's victory. Joe Manchin, a Democrat from West Virginia, among those who initially greeted the idea skeptically.
