From iconic titles across a multitude of platforms, to cancelled titles like Star Wars: 1313, to the EA era, the Star Wars gaming franchise has been to Hell and back.

The announcement came with a sizzle reel featuring numerous recent Star Wars games released, to include crossover events in other games. No new games or teases were made as part of the announcement.

They added that the Lucasfilm Games logo featured above will appear in all upcoming Lucasfilm Games titles.

All of this hype is very welcome as we wait for new Star Wars content (and in the lull after an exciting new season of The Mandalorian) - but what is next for Lucasfilm Games? Will they some day take up Lucasart's saber and develop games of their own? Will we see more publishers outside of EA making Star Wars games, with Lucasfilm Games acting as the guiding hand?

The former is far, far more likely, yet it does leave me wondering: who would I like to see behind a new Star Wars game?

This list includes the more recent games like Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order and Star Wars Squadrons all the way to LEGO Star Wars series' and SWTOR.

With the creation of Lucasfilm Games, however, we have high hopes that this will soon lead into a massive reveal.
