Lycoming County 51 new COVID-19 cases

BC health officials said on Monday that 1,475 new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in the province since Friday, bringing the provincially recorded total to 58,107.

Oklahoma's health commissioner said the recent holiday season likely played a major role in the record number of COVID-19 cases reported on Sunday.

Provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry marked the grim milestone while delivering her pandemic update on Monday, offering condolences to everyone who has lost a loved one to COVID-19.

Several COVID-19 outbreaks at long-term care homes were declared on the weekend, including one on Vancouver Island.

A total of 50,541 people who tested positive for COVID-19 have now recovered.

He stated the United States had "created complex internal restrictions" in a bid to "appease" the Chinese Government. Chinese jets made a record 380 incursions into Taiwan's defense zone a year ago , a military official said Tuesday.

The new outbreak is located at Hart House in Victoria, which is owned and operated by Trillium Communities. Tioga County has 5 COVID-19 patients hospitalized, 2 in the ICU, none on ventilators and 1 available ICU beds.

As the province's vaccine program rolls out, almost 60,000 doses of vaccine have been administered by Sunday.

"We do expect to fully use up all of the Pfizer vaccine that we have in the province by today, and we are awaiting our supplies to come in the coming days", Henry said.

Once a second dose is administered, the Pfizer vaccine improves to 94.4 per cent effective while the Moderna vaccine rises to 95.2 per cent effective for a longer period of time.

Hospitalization rates remained the same, with slightly less people receiving intensive care.
