Kevin Feige Reveals Details About 'Black Panther 2' Without Chadwick Boseman

Chadwick Boseman died on August 28, 2020, following a four-year battle against colon cancer.

In a recent interview with Deadline, Kevin Feige shared a little more about the future of Wakanda and Black Panther 2.

"A lot of the comics and this first movie is the world of Wakanda. This was always and initially the primary focus of the next story", Feige said during the discussion.

"We are not going to include Chadwick for CGI and we are not going to modify the casting of T'Challa".

He added: "There's also the task of honoring and respecting the ongoing learnings and teachings from Chad as well".

The untitled "Black Panther" sequel is now set for a July 8, 2022 release date.

A second Black Panther movie is now in the works and writer / director Ryan Coogler is working on how to tell the story without star Chadwick Boseman returning as T'Challa. His role in this film is said to be a small one, as Victor Von Doom pulls the strings from the shadows (likely meaning we're going to get a loose adaptation of the Doomwar storyline).

While discussing the highly-anticipated new series WandaVision, Marvel Studios president reiterated reports that they will not use a CG Chadwick Boseman, or re-cast another actor as T'challa, via Deadline.
