Reese Witherspoon reacts to 'Election' co-star Jessica Campbell's death

The actress, who was best known for playing Tammy Metzler in the 1999 movie, died in Portland.

Campbell, who played Tammy Metzler in the 1999 film, unexpectedly died on December 29, TMZ reported on Wednesday.

A full autopsy examination has been carried out by the Multnomah County Medical Examiner but her family is still waiting on the results.

She went on to explain that after she came home, Jessica went to the bathroom but never returned.

It's reported her aunt attempted to revive her but unfortunately was unsuccessful, and neither could the emergency services when they arrived. Working with Jessica on Election was such a pleasure. They said Campbell had congestion, thinking she was coming down with a cold, but the family didn't suspect COVID.

A GoFundMe page has been created her help with expenses and to provide for Jessica's 10-year-old son, Oliver.

Following Freaks and Geeks, Campbell went on to star opposite Glenn Close in The Safety Of Objects. She played a gay teen who ran against her brother (played by Chris Klein) as well as overachiever Tracy Flick (Reese Witherspoon) for student body president.

Jessica Campbell had become a naturopathic physician and had her own practice in Washington state. Our hearts go out to Jessica's loved ones during this hard time. She first appeared alongsideSarah Jessica Parker in the 1992 TV movie In The Best Interest Of The Children.

The death was unexpected and her cousin Sarah Wessling spoke to TMZ about the tragic circumstances.

A healer: She had given up acting several years ago and was working as a naturopathic physician.

The family told the site that Jessica has been cremated and 'they are planning a memorial'. "To know her is to have known true friendship".
