"Donald Trump's incitement of a deadly insurrection against the U.S. Capitol is without precedent in our nation's history and an egregious violation of his oath of office", House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., tweeted early Wednesday.

The Democrat from NY took to Instagram Tuesday night to describe her experience during the attack, in which a mob in support of President Donald Trump stormed the Capitol as Congress convened to certify the Electoral College results and President-elect Joe Biden's victory.

Ocasio-Cortez has made connecting directly with constituents through social media a part of her brand, taking them behind the scenes into what life as a Congresswoman is like, hosting candid conversations and sharing videos like her receiving the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccination.

She said there was "a sense that something was wrong from the inside" and that she remained fearful even after she was taken to a secure location with other elected officials.

Addressing followers on an Instagram Live video, the Democratic politician said she personally had an encounter, the details of which she said she couldn't disclose due to security concerns, "where I thought I was going to die".

"When [Ocasio-Cortez] says disinformation or misinformation, she means really anything that goes against progressive leftist dogma", the host of "The Rubin Report", told "America's Newsroom" on Wednesday.

"I'm sheltering in place in my office". "Chamber security and Capitol Police have their guns drawn as protesters bang on the front door of the chamber".

"I had a pretty traumatizing event happen to me", she described.

"We were very lucky that things happened within certain minutes that allowed members to escape the House floor unharmed", she added.

Ocasio-Cortez's physical appearance is not a matter of any great importance to Snopes, but for what it's worth, she is not the person shown in those photographs.

The congresswoman has faced threats against her before.

Considerations for a commission, AOC said, came after the mob riot at the Capitol on January 6 that left five people dead.
