As per a piece of information that first surfaced on Deadline, Tom Cruise and Elon Musk have teamed up for an insane movie project, one that would likely become the first flick to be shot with actors, in space. He's jumped out of planes.

NASA's Jim Bridenstine, says they're "excited to work with Tom Cruise on a film aboard the International Space Station".

"It's not a Mission: Impossible film and no studio is in the mix at this stage", Deadline reports.

The project is in its earliest stages, but it's reportedly a collaborative effort between NASA and Musk's Space X company. But Cruise and SpaceX are working on the action/adventure project with NASA, and if it actually happens, it will be the first narrative feature film to be shot in outer space.

While Cruise has enjoyed a successful career as one of Hollywood's most celebrated actors, his next endeavor in an intergalactic film would put him in a league like no other. "I had a contract with the Russians in 2000 to go to the International Space Station and shoot a high-end 3D documentary there", Cameron told Empire.

Bournemouth are in action on Tuesday as they travel to Derby in the Championship. The Cherries are now third in the Championship behind Norwich and Swansea.

Although in filmic terms two years isn't long, Tom Cruise is 57 years old, and despite staying healthy, getting ready to go into space will be a challenging task.

At this point, Cameron's not involved in this film (he's busy making his own space movies, four Avatar sequels, albeit without going into the actual upper atmosphere).

The star is known for his Mission: Impossible franchise, the largest action spy franchise after James Bond.
