Decorah School District reporting a slight COVID-19 uptick

A new set of rules that requires "live" teaching time and daily check-ins in hybrid and remote learning MA school districts went into effect Tuesday, Jan. 19.

"Although our desire is to remain in school as normal with enhanced safety and cleaning procedures, the numbers don't support that learning style", said Superintendent Dr. Alice E. Barfield, in a letter to parents.

"School authorities should therefore refrain from asking students or parents to undergo COVID-19 test before they are accepted in their schools", he said. "It is a good thing for us that now we can come to school daily". "School administration took all precautionary measures", a student who came to attend the first day of school told ANI.

"It is a tool that we're just getting to know, and we hope it will develop into something that will help us better serve our students going forward", said Wager.

"Half of our syllabus was covered during the online classes. We are expecting that the number of children in the school will increase in the coming days".

At the Government Girls Secondary School in Delhi, when the 10th class students reached the school, they were very happy. There will be no physical activity in the schools and guidelines have to be displayed everywhere.

Any district that does not comply with the new regulations will be required to make up learning time missed due to non-compliance by the end of the school year, the board said.
