Krafton plans to release three more games by 2022, all of which will be based on or related to "PUBG". The share sale could raise billions of dollars, Kim, who became Krafton's chief executive officer previous year, said in an interview in Seoul, declining to give further details. Most notably among other properties, they own game developer Bluehole, which developed Tera. KakaoBank, the largest Internet-only lender, and LG Chem's battery unit are expected to conduct initial share sales in 2021, the report said.

The country's biggest-ever IPO was the US$4.3 billion offering of Samsung Life Insurance in 2010.

Even though the game is no longer as huge as it used to be upon release, PUBG still remains popular even today.

Krafton's Kim said the company is creating an animated show that will be uploaded on streaming services and a web cartoon. The company is also planning to venture into films and dramas, and is reportedly open to inquisition in these areas.

Kim is now the chief executive of Krafton Inc., the company that launched "PUBG" in December 2017. The expert revealed that in addition to the Callisto protocol, which has already been announced in the hands of the creator of Dead Space, we can expect two more games within the "PUBG universe" - one to be released in 2021 and the other in 2022.
