New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo made note that after receiving 392,025 vaccine doses in the second week of the rollout, that number dropped to 201,500, 250,725, and 225,225 in the subsequent weeks. The state budget must be passed by April 1.

Cuomo also threatened legal action against the federal government if it doesn't provide NY $15 billion in COVID relief.

"The second alternative is to have the people of the state of NY actually get the profits from mobile sports betting and run it the way we run the state lottery, which is state-run and the state gets all the revenue".

Cuomo said the budget with the larger aid will help avoid further spending cuts and tax hikes, which he says will make it harder for the economy to turn around and one. I'm with the people and I believe the people of the state should get the revenues.

Cuomo is facing massive problems as his actions has curtailed revenue in not allowing businesses to operate as well as a massive number of for tax payers moving from the State to other places.

Cuomo's proposal could cause a political stalemate between him and state legislatures down the road, which could hold up the process of bringing mobile sports betting to NY.

The bill, which provides and defines the terms for regulation of sports betting and mobile sports wagering and opens wagering to multiple sports operators with locations at sports stadiums and arenas to racetracks and casinos, now moves to the state senate's finance committee. This is not a moneymaker for private interests to collect just more tax revenue.

In his "state of the state" address Governor Cuomo announced plans that includes a US$51 billion plan to redevelop Manhattan's Midtown West neighbourhood, including the replacement of the Port Authority bus terminal, a famous landmark in the city.

President-elect Joe Biden on Thursday proposed a $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief bill that sets aside $350 billion for state and local governments.

Instead of providing detailed budget information, Cuomo today argued that NY deserves a large slice of Biden's $1.9 trillion plan.

Currently, the top 5% of NY residents pay 61.8% of the total personal income tax liability.

Andrew Cuomo proposed raising the state's top income-tax rate by 2 percentage points, an increase that would mean New York City residents in the top bracket would pay the highest combined local tax rate in the country.
