Lady Gaga started out the performances donning a Schiaparelli gown paired with a large golden dove brooch.

The Spanish phrase that Jennifer Lopez said during her performance at Joe Biden's inauguration has been translated, and it turns out she was actually reciting part of the Pledge of Allegiance.

She performed a dramatic version of the USA national anthem, while she wore a huge fuchsia Schiaparelli couture silk skirt and black top adorned by a large gold brooch of a dove carrying an olive branch as she stepped up to sing The Star-Spangled Banner.

"A dove carrying an olive branch. I will sing to the hearts of all people who live on this land", Gaga tweeted ahead of her performance.

"Una naci??n, bajo Dios, indivisible, con libertad y justicia para todos!" she said, her eyes sparkling with pride - "One nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all".

Currently, the top 5% of NY residents pay 61.8% of the total personal income tax liability. I'm with the people and I believe the people of the state should get the revenues.

And a host of other celebrities marked the swearing-in of Democrat Biden and his Vice President, Kamala Harris - the first African-American, South Asian woman to hold the second-highest position in the White House - as they witnessed history in the making. Those people are probably right (Lady Gaga tweeted as much, in fact)!

Except, hold on: Is a party what Wednesday evening's televised "Celebrating America" concert really felt like?

Sporting a white pantsuit ensemble with a ruffle collar, Lopez also shouted "Let's get loud!" during her performance, a nod to her turn-of-the-millennium signature hit, delighting social media.

Gaga - who has more than 83 million followers on Twitter - wrote on the micro-blogging platform: "I pray tomorrow will be a day of peace for all Americans".

Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda will contribute a classical recitation, joining musicians such as Bruce Springsteen, John Legend, Katy Perry, Foo Fighters, Justin Timberlake and Bon Jovi. After the ceremony, before he departed, Brooks gave handshakes to Biden, departing Vice President Mike Pence and Harris, and he appeared to be leaving when he saw some of the other presidents and their wives in attendance. And I bet you're like me, ready and willing to face it head on.
