Netflix also informed sources that the new feature is still being checked only on TV computers, not on web or smartphones. On the initial profile login screen ("Who's watching Netflix?"), there's a button below each profile that says either "Play Something" or "Shuffle Play".

Netflix is planning to roll out its Shuffle Play feature all over the world this year. "We've been testing a new feature that gives members the ability to choose to instantly watch a title chosen just for them versus browse". Well, Netflix has been testing a feature that does exactly that for a while, and now, the company plans to release it for all users later this year.

I can't be the only one that spends hours on-end looking for a show to watch on Netflix.

According to a letter from Netflix to the shareholders, the response to Shuffle Play has been mostly positive. On selecting "Try it now", Netflix will automatically play something for the user.

Alphabet Is Shutting Down Loon
Google started working on Loon in 2011 and launched the project with a public test in 2013. This follows an announcement that Loon LLC is being globally shut down as a company.

The development was confirmed by the streaming giant to TechCrunch. It also noted that the feature would reach all Netflix users worldwide in the first half of 2021. The feature picks content based on your viewing history instead of having to scroll back and forth on Netflix's overwhelming home screen. The company had spotted reviewing that feature previous year, will finally get a worldwide launch. "This could be a movie or show you're now watching, something you've saved to your list or a title that's similar to something you've already watched, the company says", according to the report.

Seriously, with the gargantuan amount of content I can consume on the streaming service, I wouldn't be able to pick a show to watch in a short amount of time, even if my life depended on it. It is also available in the sidebar navigation of the TV app. This button has already appeared on the Netflix app for TV devices on some users, due to the ongoing tests.
