Mexico calls on Joe Biden to fix immigration status of Mexican nationals

Lopez Obrador has been urging Biden to carry out an immigration reform, and earlier this week said he hoped the incoming USA president would address the issue quickly once he had taken office later on Wednesday.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security, under Biden's new administration, said on Wednesday it would end all new enrollments in the Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP) program, which since 2019 has forced more than 65,000 asylum seekers to wait in Mexico for their U.S. court hearings, sometimes for months or even years.

"I don't know", Kenney said, when asked by MacCallum if he thought Trudeau would go that far.
