New Trailer and Poster Reveal for Disney's Raya and the Last Dragon

Holy smokes. Disney Studios is making its return to movies in a big way with Raya and the Last Dragon, which follows some sort of ninja warrior princess (Kelly Marie Tran) on an intrepid quest through a fantastical country to find and protect the "last dragon" (Awkwafina) and the animation is astonishing.

Raya and the Last Dragon has an incredible voice cast. Along with the trailer, a new poster and images were shared.

The film is set in the fictional land of Kumandra, 500 years after an evil force threatened the land and forced the dragons, who lived peacefully with humans, to sacrifice themselves in order to salvage humanity.

Directed by Carlos Lopez Estrada and Don Hall, the film stars Kelly Marie Tran, Awkwafina, Gemmah Chan, Daniel Dae Kim, Sandra Oh, Benedict Wong, Izaac Wang, Thalia Tran, Alan Tudyk, Lucille Soong, Patti Harrison and Ross Butler.

Full disclosure: Ever since Tangled, I've preferred Disney's CG movies over Pixar's as they've seemed more interested in being amusing and entertaining instead of ruthlessly trying to make me sob hysterically.

Raya seeks the help of the legendary dragon, Sisu. However, along her journey, she'll learn that it'll take more than a dragon to save the world-it's going to take trust and teamwork as well. The producers are Osnat Shurer and Peter Del Vecho. Premier Access for the title will be priced at $29.99.

Disney's new feature is getting the same treatment as "Mulan", with the movie debuting in theaters and on Disney+ for an additional fee both on the same day.
