Spotify Could One Day Recommend Songs Based on How Your Voice Sounds

The music streaming service was finally granted a patent - almost three years after submitting plans - for an algorithm that can better predict what users want to hear - by listening-in on their conversations.

According to Music Business Worldwide, Spotify filed for the patent back in 2018 and just recently on Tuesday, 12th January it was approved. Let's take a look at the new Spotify patent that will suggest song based on the user's mood.

Results of those observations would be combined with existing recommendation techniques based on previously-played songs, favorites, and friends' taste in music.

The patent explains that the technology would potentially work out the "intonation, stress, rhythm, and the likes of units of speech" from its users' voices.
