Mass Effect Legendary Edition remasters the iconic trilogy this May, preorder today

We got our first proper look at Mass Effect Legendary Edition earlier this week, which packages together the original trilogy of games with over forty pieces of DLC, along with overhauled visuals and performance.

Talking about the graphical improvements, Mass Effect Legendary Edition will feature 4K Ultra HD resolution with HDR imaging. "And we've talked about games like Dragon Age and Mass Effect in their future". It'll cost Rs. 3,999 in India and $60 in the USA, and will be available on PC (EA Play/Origin and Steam), PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

Mass Effect: Legendary Edition will launch on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on May 14, adding a number of substantial tweaks and enhancements to the beloved sci-fi games. "Improvements to shaders and VFX, updated lighting and improved dynamic shadows, volumetrics and depth-of-field" according to the press release. Pre-rendered cinematics have also been enhanced to make every story moment feel even more impactful. Combat has been "modernized" to bring it more into line with the shooter-heavy Mass Effect 2 and 3, and now features better aiming, fully integrated squad controls, improved camera controls and, thank god, better Mako handling. There are also more choices than before allowing players to tailor their avatars with hairstyles, skin tones, and make-up of their choice. One negative for longtime fans, however, is that the collection does not support multiplayer, meaning Mass Effect 3's multiplayer mode will not be present. These days, the original Mass Effect is badly showing its age. Per Eurogamer, loading up the Citadel's Presidium level takes 14 seconds in Legendary Edition. The Verge specifically says that textures in Mass Effect 1 will now resemble material as originally intended, with "eyelashes like spider legs or potato-shaped heads" now looking "sleek" in Mass Effect Legendary Edition.
