Cyberpunk 2077: CD Projekt Recommends Beware Of Mods

Last month, CD Projekt Red co-founder Marcin Iwiński apologized on behalf of the company and announced that Cyberpunk 2077's free next-gen upgrade is set to launch in the second half of 2021.

The Eurogamer medium has spoken with the developer and they explain that it is linked to external DLL files, which contain data that allows several programs to run at the same time.

CD Projekt Red has said that players should be careful when downloading mods and modified games for Cyberpunk 2077 after discovering one of these games that has turned out to be capable of damaging our computers.

If you propose to use @CyberpunkGame mods/customized saves on PC, use warning. Issue will be fixed ASAP.

Work is underway to create and issue a fix for the exploit, but for now using mods from an unknown/untrusted source is not advised. We appreciate their input and are working on fixing this as soon as possible.

Recently, CDPR announced that they were releasing a few official modding tools to the Cyberpunk 2077 community. Modding permits players to change graphics on the sport, enhance controls and even add additional interactive skills with in-game characters like Judy or Johnny Silverhand.

Cyberpunk 2077 has been no stranger to bugs and issues since its launch late a year ago. Popular open-world game series Grand Theft Auto (GTA) is known for the plethora of mods that you can use in the game during or after the single-player campaign is over.
