During a Monday interview on Fox News Channel's "The Faulkner Focus", Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) slammed "bully" Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) for his mishandling of the coronavirus pandemic in his state. There should be hell to pay. According to CNN, Cuomo's administration "knowingly undercounted deaths among nursing home residents during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic in the state".

"Though some epidemiologists and nursing home advocates questioned the report's methods and findings, public health experts agreed with the report's conclusion - based on the timeline - that nursing home staffers and visitors, before they were banned, were likely the main drivers of COVID-19 infection and death in nursing homes", the PolitiFact article states. The covid got into the nursing homes by staff walking into the nursing home when we didn't even know we had covid.

Late last week and over the weekend, there were a number of headlines about Cuomo's office withholding nursing home data from state legislators out of fear that said data would be used by the Trump administration to go after Cuomo's administration. We told both houses, the Assembly and the Senate, that we had a DOJ request for information and we were prioritizing that.

Although Cuomo was largely applauded by Democratic leadership early in the pandemic, Stefanik railed against Cuomo, describing him as "the worst governor in America" for how he handled the pandemic. One percent. NY is 34 in nursing home deaths as a percentage of total deaths.

"Everyone knows Gov. Cuomo is a bully", she said.

"This is not about politics, but people's lives", she said.

"All the deaths in the nursing homes and hospitals were always fully, publicly and accurately reported", the Democratic governor said, weeks after the state was forced to acknowledge that its count of nursing home deaths excluded thousands of residents who perished after being taken to hospitals. "The truth is you had the best medical professionals and advice on the globe".

"When we didn't provide information, it allowed press, people, cynics, politicians, to fill the void", he said, and "it created confusion and cynicism and pain for the families".

"If there's nothing to hide, why didn't they hand over the information when we asked for it?" "No excuses: I accept responsibility for that".

Governor Cuomo's failure to apologize this afternoon was a shocking slap in the face to the New Yorkers who have lost loved ones to COVID-19. People want the truth and the only way that can be provided is through investigations by the Department of Justice and the Attorney General. He continues to shift the blame anywhere but upon himself and his top officials.

The New York Yankees won the series, winning 8-1, losing 11-0, and winning 11-1 to make up some ground on their rivals. Despite sitting on top for much of the season, the Boston Red Sox are expected to lose steam as the season progresses.
