"Preliminary snow [forecast] remains 4-8", but stretched over a 36 [hour] period from Thursday into Friday night", the National Weather Service said on Twitter early Wednesday morning.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for coastal areas and a winter storm warning for the rest of the state. The latest forecast models are in and it looks like nearly all of us will be seeing some type of winter weather by early afternoon, before that freezing line splits our SE counties to a cold all rain event to a winter wx event in our NW counties early evening. For much of central Kentucky this looks to be a mostly snow event that begins as some very light snow Wednesday afternoon and wraps up Friday.

Snow accumulation in the area ranged from half an inch to 2 inches, according to reports, while some areas also received maybe an inch of ice chips and freezing rain. Our overnight officers are reporting the precipitation mixed with cold temperatures are causing icy road conditions. Snow should be falling heavily in South Jersey by 8 or 9 a.m., while in North Jersey, moderate to heavy snow is likely to be accumulating no later than 10 or 11 a.m., Sullivan said.

Now the official NWS forecast for northeast Suffolk calls for two to four inches of snow tomorrow, with northeast winds of 10 to 15 miles per hour, gusting to 25 miles per hour in the afternoon.

Protesters also gathered outside the central bank, where they held signs calling for support for the civil disobedience movement. It wasn't clear exactly how many students were rounded up, but estimates put the figure at between 20 and 40.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for parts of New Jersey ahead of a significant snowstorm expected to arrive in the state tomorrow morning. Winds NE 10-15 miles per hour. Cloudy. Highs in the upper 20s. Cloudy. Lows in the mid 20s. Lows in the mid 30s.

Friday: Partly cloudy. Highs in the mid 30s.
