Rifts in the Republican Party grew wider this month following the impeachment trial of Trump in which he was acquitted by a minority of the Senate in a 57-43 vote.

"We can not - we will not - go back to the days of the failed Republican establishment of yesteryear", said Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who outlined a new Trumpian GOP agenda focused on restrictive immigration policies, opposition to China and limiting military engagement.

According to the report, Trump is expected to go after Biden's rollbacks of his policies on illegal immigration, accusing the sitting president of pushing identity politics, emphasizing the need to reopen schools as well as rail against big tech monopolies. As was the case in every other state, no widespread election fraud has been discovered in Arizona and the Trump campaign's challenges to the results failed in court.

Meadows went on to say that Trump's keynote address is intended as a planning tool for the next administration.

Yetin an interview with Fox News's Bret Baier on Thursday, McConnell signaled that he would not let the growing rift between him and the former president get in the way of the Republicans reclaiming the White House. "And we see it", Meadows told Fox News on Thursday.

"The Republican Party is more than just one person".

"The efforts that they've been pushing, like social engineering nonsense, is what the former president is very concerned about", said the adviser.

The chairman of CPAC, Matt Schlapp, is a close ally of Trump, and he has ensured that the conference is a chorus of voices who support the former president.

The conference gives Trump an opportunity to broadcast his message to the Republican Party, a task that has become more hard to do since his medium of choice, Twitter, suspended his account following the Capitol siege.

According to a representative, Trump was unavailable for comment prior to the conference.

Trump has kept a relatively low profile since he left the White House on January 20.
