Hours later, Boulder police issued a second tweet saying officers were responding to a report of an "armed, unsafe individual" at a separate location about 3 miles away, and that investigators were seeking to determine "if this is related to (the) King Soopers shooting".

"These were people who were going about their day, doing their food shopping and their lives were cut abruptly and tragically short by the shooter who is now in custody. No numbers about fatalities will be released until families are notified". The supermarket is located about 2 miles from the University of Colorado's flagship campus.

The supermarket attack comes less than a week after a mass shooting that left eight dead, including six Asian women, at three spas in Atlanta.

The incident began at about 14:30 local time (20:30 GMT) on Monday when the suspect entered the supermarket and began firing.

"We ran to the back of the store and out the back door and employees showed us the way", he said.

However, some of the stand-off was captured on camera by a passer-by showing victims near the grocery store. I don't know the answer to it.

Shortly after, Boulder PD asked people near 17th and Grove to "shelter in place while they respond to report of armed, unsafe individual" in a tweet this evening around 5:30.

Joe Biden Caused A Stir Boarding Air Force One
Biden was preparing to depart Joint Base Andrews for Atlanta when he was caught on camera falling three times on the steps. Biden, 78, the oldest president in history, fell as he was about halfway up the steps.

While it is true that King Soopers enforces a strict face mask policy, as required by the Colorado mask mandate, there is no evidence to support the claim that the shooting occurred over a face mask dispute. Commander Kerry Yamaguchi of the Boulder Police Department told reporters several hours after the fact that investigators were just starting to process the crime scene.

TV footage showed an ambulance has pulled away from the store, apparently carrying the bleeding man brought out of the store in handcuffs.

Once they got outside, she said they saw a body in the parking lot.

The man in custody appeared to have a bloody leg and was limping as he walked. This post will be updated with new details as they come in. Known to be one of the deadliest school massacres in USA history, the shooting - perpetrated by two senior students, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold - claimed the lives of 12 students and one teacher and resulted in the injuries of 24 other students.

Neven told KMGH's Sloan Dickey he and another man named Michael helped people get away from the scene.

Local police and federal authorities descended onto the location and while exact details have not yet been shared, it has been reported that there are multiple injuries.
