"I realise this will be extremely disruptive to clinical services and no doubt we need to cancel some clinical activities".

Two new coronavirus cases emerged in the community in Queensland on Wednesday, one of them a nurse at Brisbane's Princess Alexandra Hospital.

He and NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian both appeared to blame the federal government for the story's source material, exposing a rare rift within the Liberal Party.

"Fingers crossed, all will be looking good for Easter", Ms Palaszczuk said".

Mr Hazzard said last week NSW had expected 13,000 doses, but instead received 45,000, however it is this type of data states have agreed not to transparently provide to help people better understand the rollout.

She said of the hens party which involved the two positive cases who visited Byron Bay, one is a NSW resident but is now staying in Queensland and is being tested there.

Chief health officer Jeanette Young said authorities are now trying to determine whether the nurse caught Covid in the same ward.

A NSW man in his 20s returned a positive test to the virus on Tuesday, after unknowingly infectious travellers visited a number of venues in the Byron Bay region.

"She was tested as part of the asymptomatic screening testing process for that ward and was found to be positive", she said.

The second nurse has since developed some virus symptoms.

Festival organisers have a government-approved Covid-19 safety plan in place after the event was cancelled previous year, but the Queensland outbreak could put the Easter event in jeopardy.

The second local case announced today lives in the same household as one of the infected nurses.

Giant container ship Ever Given stuck in Suez Canal 'partially re-floated'
But despite progress the previous night in freeing the rudder and propeller, the vessel remains wedged across the canal. Dredgers have been working on the port side of the ship in an attempt to remove sand and mud and dislodge the vessel.

There are now 11 people linked to the cluster.

"So those two clusters look like they've all been worked through and all of the cases are linked and we do not have any other cases out in the community anywhere in Queensland that are unlinked".

New South Wales Health Minister Brad Hazzard has slammed the federal government for accusing his state of being slow to rollout Covid-19 vaccines.

"It's no good if we have half the stockpile sitting in warehouses".

"We need to have guaranteed supply and we need to have guaranteed times of delivery".

Ms Palaszczuk called on residents not to panic and start panic buying.

Australia's rollout has been plagued by supply shortages and delays and is now ranked 94th in the world.

"If the Commonwealth can tell us what their supply is, we are more than happy to roll out the rest of that as quickly as possible".

He said the festival had been cancelled due to the risk festival-goers - some of whom travel from interstate - would spread the highly infectious Covid-19 variant across the country.

NSW Health is also asking everyone else in the area - or those who were there over the weekend - to monitor for symptoms and get tested if any eventuate.

There were no other cases in NSW in the 24 hours to 8pm on Tuesday, with the new case being identified after the reporting period.

However, a young person was fined for failing to wear a mask on a train.
