Indianapolis FedEx facility shooting leaves 8 dead, attacker’s identity unknown

Local media cited a company spokesman as saying that FedEx is now considering reevaluating a policy that prohibits employees from having their phones with them during shifts, making it hard to contact them.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were called to 8951 Mirabel Road just after 11 p.m. Thursday on reports of shots fired.

"I don't know if he's OK".

Live video from news outlets at the scene showed crime scene tape in the vehicle park outside the facility.

Another man, Ian Johnston, told the news outlet that his wife, who works at the facility, had texted to tell him there was an active shooter inside.

Another man told WTTV that his niece was sitting in the driver's seat of her auto when the gunfire erupted, and she was wounded.

"She got shot on her left arm", Parminder Singh said.
