That reported length of time appears to allow the grand jury time to wrap up their work before final race to determine who will be the New York County District Attorney, with primaries slated for June and the general election in November.

A grand jury has convened in NY on Tuesday to start investigating the criminal charges on former U.S. president Donald Trump regarding his shady business dealings and hush money.

The grand jury was set up recently and will sit three days a week for six months, reported The Washington Post, citing two unnamed people familiar with the case.

"This is a continuation of the greatest Witch Hunt in American history", he began his statement posted on his personal blog. The attorney general's office deposed the former president's son Eric Trump last October, and though the grilling was confidential, James is known to be looking into the books of the Trump Organization's Seven Springs estate in Westchester (which Eric Trump has described as "our compound").

The Washington Post reported the development in its Tuesday online edition.

It is not yet clear when, or even if, the grand jury will be asked to consider returning any indictments.

The Trump Organization's longtime chief financial officer Allen Weisselberg has been named in multiple reports as a pressure point, eyed by Manhattan prosecutors as someone who could potentially cooperate against the former president.

In recent months, Vance has hired former Mafia prosecutor Mark Pomeranz to assist in conducting the investigation and interviewed witnesses, including former Trump private lawyer Michael Cohen.

Russia, which has provided security, diplomatic and financial backing to Lukashenko, accused the West of hypocrisy. In the Commons, he told MPs: "The Belarusian authorities claim this was in relation to an alleged bomb threat".

James is leading a criminal investigation into whether Trump's company misreported property values to guarantee loans and receive economic and tax breaks.

Vance refuses to run for reelection and will resign at the end of the year.In other words, the Trump case Likely to be passed on to his successor in any kind of way.

"This is purely political, and an affront to the nearly 75 million voters who supported me in the Presidential Election, and it's being driven by highly partisan Democrat prosecutors", Trump closed.

But in his blog Tuesday, Trump accused prosecutors of targeting him for the Russian Federation investigation, which has nothing to do with the case in NY.

Trump issued a statement last week complaining that he's being "unfairly attacked and abused by a corrupt political system".

The development shows Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. may have obtained evidence of a crime about the case, said media reports.

This is a developing story.
