Two dead and over 20 injured in Miami mass shooting

Many family members and friends awaited word of their loved ones outside Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami early Sunday, according to WSVN, with some participating in a prayer circle.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded, determined two victims were deceased on the scene and transported eight others to various hospitals in Miami-Dade and Broward. "He said the guys came with ski masks and hoodies, and just started shooting up the crowd".

Investigators were hunting for the suspects who returned to their vehicle and fled the scene after the incident, police added.

"We believe this is a targeted act of gun violence", Miami-Dade police Director Alfredo "Freddy" Ramiriez told the newspaper.

"These are cold blooded murderers that shot indiscriminately into a crowd and we will seek justice", Mr Ramirez tweeted.

The coronavirus pandemic provided a pause in this deadly workplace violence, but the reopening of many companies has brought a return of shootings.
