Clark County reports 31 new COVID-19 cases, no new deaths Wednesday

The province's rate is 9.7 per cent, while Winnipeg's rate is 9.2 per cent.

Manitoba's current death toll from COVID-19 is 1,111.

The death of another woman in her 80s linked to the Carman Memorial Hospital outbreak was also announced, bringing Manitoba's total COVID-19 deaths to 1,111.

"As has been the case since the start of the pandemic, our success in this next phase is dependent on all of us doing our part to keep COVID-19 low and slow", Henry and Dix said in a joint written statement. Ontario now has 21 Manitobans, while one is in Alberta. Of the active cases, 134 individuals are now hospitalized, 41 of whom are in intensive care.

There are now 273 Manitobans hospitalized with COVID-19 in Manitoba and neighbouring provinces.

As of midnight, there was a total of 142 Manitobans in intensive care, including both those there for COVID-19 and those who need critical care for other reasons, the Shared Health spokesperson said. Seven patients have died out of province.

The majority of the variant cases are unspecified, with 7,601 cases.

The latest numbers come as new data shows the percentage of COVID-19 tests coming back positive continues to drop as disease activity wanes as the number of vaccinated county residents increases. Among adults, that figure hovers just above 72 per cent.

There were no new recoveries either, so the pandemic totals no sit at 13,873 confirmed cases, 13,679 recoveries, and 47 cases remain active.
